Spa Electrics wanted to deliver an enriched user experience by easing the efforts related to operating the swimming pool lights (Switch on/off the lights, Changing the Colors, Shades etc.)
IoT enabled connected light solutions enabled Spa Electrics to digitally advance by offering its customers with rich facility of performing all the operations (Switch on/off the Lights, Changing the Colors, Shades etc.) remotely from a Mobile App (Android/iOS) with help of Wifi Bridge. The solution also extends with addition of voice commands through Alexa for completing the tasks.
We have done a 3 tier architecture with a web server in the front end followed by load balancers maintaining the App Servers and strong database. We have used AWS Lambda on account of time to market and ease of maintenance. We have used AWS IoT Core to connect the devices on the cloud and perform key operations like turning the lights on/off, changing the color etc. The devices are also controlled with voice command for which we have used Alexa Smart Home Skill to turn on/off and change the colors of the lights.
Multiple Lambdas have been used for multiple purposes
ECS: All the web services (3 services) and dashboard (1) are deployed through this service.
API Gateway: All the image uploads are being uploaded through this service to the S3 Object storage.
S3: This is used to maintain the user profile images and other images.
ALB: This is used to distribute the requests to respective services through Target Groups and to distribute the traffic across the servers.
RDS: All the application data is maintained through services and used the MySQL database.
Cloudwatch: All the application logs and lambda logs are maintained here which is useful to debug the logs and monitor the requests of all the services.
